Please join me in welcoming our newest College Rep, SJUAdmissions, from St. Josephs University in Philadelphia!

As a reminder, our College Reps are individuals that we have taken reasonable steps to verify as being from the school they represent. (If you find a CC member claiming to be an admissions person at a college and that member isn't flagged as a College Rep, please let us know so that we can verify his/her status.)

As an matter of courtesy to our College Reps (who have real-world jobs and are incredibly busy during the admissions season!), please don't post pleas for help naming the individual (e.g., "SJUAdmissions - Need Answer ASAP!!!" is what NOT to do - ask your question in a new thread with a clear and specific title, and you'll get input from CC members and, perhaps, from the resident College Rep if he/she has something to contribute.)

Say hello if you like, but please don't ask questions in this thread - start a new one with a relevant title.

Welcome, SJUAdmissions. :D

hello if you like

I’m just kidding. XD

But seriously, welcome SJUAdmissions!

Welcome, SJUAdmissions. I grew up in Philadelphia in the Sixties and have fond memories of watching Big 5 basketball, so it’s nice to have St. Joe’s back in my life.

I laughed out loud. Keep flapping your wings, silly hawk.

Hello all, thanks for visiting the SJU page on Collge Confidential. I’m happy to be representing Hawk Hill online. I currently work in the SJU Admissions office but more importantly I am a Hawk myself, class of '02. I look forward to chatting with everyone.

Hi, I have twin daughters that are interested in SJU. They are both good students, one is interested in business/history, the other possibly science.A good portion of their college list is Catholic universities. They both are non-drinkers and want a campus with “real” alternative things to do and wellness dorms if possible. They saw with their brother’s college search, some activities were in name only at certain colleges. He found a small group of friends that didn’t live for beer pong, but they have also heard of students transfering from colleges because of the lack of things to do besides partying every weekend. After reading an article about fake Id’s in the Hawk, they both wondered if they would be too much “out of the loop” going to St. Joe’s. We all realize drinking is a main activity at most colleges, but some do have a balance. Besides a day visit in the fall, do you have any thoughts on this and areas to focus on when we visit.
Thank you!

Sorry, I am bleary eyed and just read the original post about not posting questions here. I will address that later,(after some coffee) my apologies…
