So here's my situation, I am currently on my 5th year of community college... I spent the first 3.5 years as an engineering science student and didn't try, didn't care, i was going to college cause my parents wanted me to. I then changed my major to marketing for one semester because I was sick of engineering, and again... my parents wanted me to. I took an accounting class that semester, and I don't know why, but it challenged me and I was so proficient at it that I want to say it was then that I found my calling. Bad news, I had an A in that class grade wise... i had more absences than allowed (5, max was 3) and failed it. So I came back this semester with a new major (Accounting) and for the first time in my life, I'm actually pushing my academic self and find it COMPLETELY rewarding, I'm on track for straight A's, and a teachers pet, and I LOVE all my classes and love everything accounting. So, my question is, I can finish this semester, a winter intersession class, and next semester and graduate with my associates in accounting. If I get half of my grades A's and half of my grades B's for the remainder of that time, my OVERALL GPA between those 5 years would be a 1.93... which is embarassing but true. I'm wondering my chances at a transferring to a public 4 year school in NY like SUNY Old Westbury or some other easier SUNY school.

I'm thinking (or atleast hoping) that with a HEAVY upward trend in my grades, and a strong essay displaying my apathy for my prior poor performance and discovering a passion for my academics and education, I have a chance of getting the hell out of this community college circus ride i've put myself on. So my question is, what are my chances?
