Wellesley College's Architecture Programs and Acceptance

Hello everyone!
I am currently a senior in my high school right now and I would really appreciate if I could hear some words about Architecture Programs in Wellesley and being accepted into it.
So I am currently attending a decent High school in Washington state, ranking #1 with good GPA. I have a ok SAT score (R:690, M:790, W:680) and I just recently found my passion for architecture and I'm hoping to attend Wellesley school of architecture to pursue my passion. However, I have heard many mixed comments about Wellesly's Architecture programs. Many praised Wellesley for their vigorous academic persuasions, courses, and tradition but, I haven't heard lot of comments about Architecture Programs in Wellesley. Some even said that I can't get a decent job form graduating in architecture major in Wellesley because according to them, is not one of the "major programs"which I disagreed with but surely placed me in doubt. If Its possible, I would love to hear the truth about Wellesley's architecture programs.
Also, because I have just found out my passion, I have no classes or activity/ background related to architecture, only my pure passion for it. Will it affect my acceptance? and if I am accepted, will I have lots of difficulty with classes?

I know this post is really demanding for answers but if its possible, I would love to hear some detailed answers into it. Thank you for reading! :)

There are very few programs which enable you to practice architecture directly on graduating from college. And Wellesley doesn’t offer one of them.

Wellesley offers an interdepartmental major in Architecture, which potentially could prepare you to apply to graduate school in architecture.

If you are interested in architectural design, other schools offer more courses in that area. (Note that the Wellesley website indicates that Wellesley students go to MIT for most of these classes.)

If you are truly interested in Architecture then consider Cornell. I hear from an architect friend that it has a top notch program. Good Luck.

I’ve been looking at this program, as well. The Art Department, the faculty and the access to MIT all speak favorably of the program. The College has some real pluses, and I’m interested in hearing what others have to say about taking courses at MIT and their experiences with the program. As another writer mentions, Cornell has a stronger program, but you have to be cool with going to Cornell and its location. Wash U has a great architecture program and school–FYI. But you did not ask who else offers programs. I hope others can speak to this query. Thanks for posting.

My brother’s girlfriend wants to go to school for architecture. She said to look at NAAB.org. They list all the schools where you can get a Bachelor of Architecture. I don’t think there are many & some might be more than 4 years but you earn your license too? I’m really not sure, look it up.
