According to FairTest (the non-profit organization committed to ending “the misuses and flaws of standardized testing and to ensure that evaluation of students, teachers and schools is fair, open, valid and educationally beneficial”), some students have been notified that their scores from the controversial, recycled August 25 SAT have been mysteriously canceled.
FairTest Public Education Director Bob Schaeffer says:
So if you, too, have received a cancellation letter, please post here.
Yes, I got an email from the college board saying that my scores on the August SAT Test were canceled. I called the college board three times, but they did not reveal why my scores were canceled. I have friends who came to the U.S as international students took the test and said that their scores got mysteriously canceled too, especially the students who took the test in California. I am currently doing a case complaint about my scores because I did not know that the college board recycled the test questions from the previous SAT until after I took the test. Plus, I do not think that it’s fair for students who have studied really hard during the summer and got their scores canceled mysteriously by the college board. For students like us who got their scores canceled, we do not even have time to prep for the next SAT on October…
I just found out after waiting another 3 weeks from when we were supposed to hear that my son’s scores were cancelled. He got an email from the office of integrity with no information, just that it was canceled. We feel helpless this has deflated our chances for early action at any competitive college. Please contact me on how to proceed.
