Also, any thoughts on Hendrix would be appreciated.

Hendrix doesnāt belong in the conversation - unless they were offering you a FULL RIDE - but Madison is 8K more valuable than Hendrix. And would not risk my education on āup and comingā I would go with LONG ESTABLISHED.

the private LAC versus state flagship U cross-admit situation has always been a tough decision. I donāt know what to tell you, except that an awful lot of Californians wind up going through the same calculus that you are now. Iām sure that one thing that helped them along in the decision-making process is the knowledge that if they make it through Wesleyan they have a pretty good shot at graduate school at a UC.

Iām going through the exact same scenario you are right now with Wesleyan and a few other LACs. If I were you, and your parents support you, I would go to Wesleyan.

I would definitely choose Wesleyan. Yes, you would have some loans but the amounts are not overwhelming. Thereās no better investment than an investment in youself. I personally believe that a Wesleyan education is worth it. Good luck.

Just sent in my deposit to Wesleyan!! Thanks a lot for all the advise!

Congrats, WiscoKid! Youāll be joining my son and what looks like an amazing class of 2015 at Wesleyan!

Also, I wanted to mention that I was paying off my student loans until my early 30s (also from a good private college), and I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever.

I wish I could join you Wiscokidā¦have a great time!

And the looming student loan debt crisis gets more piled on.
