Wesleyan vs. Haverford

i got into wes but waitlisted at haverford. i'm wondering what people have to say about them compared to each other because, though there's a very slim chance that i'll get off the waitlist, it'll help me make a decision if i do. plus, it's good to know what's better about wes if i don't get into haverford lol. thanks!

I think, they both provide high quality of education. However, Wes has larger and more diverse student population than Haverford has. I frankly got into both and decided to go to Wes for that reason. Come to Wes! lol

Wesleyan and Haverford are both excellent liberal arts colleges. Wesleyan has a larger school atmosphere than Haverford. One of the strengths of Haverford, however, is the strong sense of both community and personal responsibility fostered by its size and honor code. The small college atmosphere is somewhat amplified by the tri-college relations with Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore. You won't go wrong at either school; it depends on where you feel more comfortable. Good luck!

I have sons at both Wesleyan and Haverford. They are both great small schools. The positives for Haverford is that it is very close to Philadelphia, and yet Haverford has a beautiful campus. My son takes half his classes at Bryn Mawr which is right down the road. The Bryn Mawr connection gives the two schools the same number of students as Wesleyan. Haverford also has a very strong Junior year/semester abroad program that is highly promoted.

Wesleyan's location is more isolated and is much more of a university town. It's about 2 hours from both NYC and Boston. Wes also has an open "design your own program of study".
