Wesleyan vs. Vassar

I am trying to decide between visiting Wesleyan and Vassar or just Vassar
I can either visit both or just Vassar, but if I visit both, the other college visits (to Carleton, Barnard, Haverford, Macalester, Bard, Northwestern, UChicago) would be shortened.
I am also looking to apply somewhere ED and don't want to apply somewhere I haven't visited.
I don't know what I am interested in (which is why I am looking into small LACs mostly), but I know I want to be involved in school publications.
Also, there are other threads on this comparison, but most of them haven't been updated since 2007; I'm sure things have changed. I'm also more into the arts scene in that I would rather attend a school with arts things to do on campus rather than sports or frats.

I visited both of schools and ended up choosing Vassar. Wesleyan has a great reputation and many distinguished departments, particularly in economics and film. The school has a bit of an alternative vibe, which I liked, although I think if I had to generalize, the student population at Wesleyan seemed a bit nerdier compared to Vassar. Vassar has a much nicer campus and facilities. Even though Poughkeepsie is not great, the area immediately around Vassar is nice and it is easy to get into NYC through a direct train connection. The Hudson River Valley is beautiful. The academic programs at Vassar are amazing and the community is unbelievably diverse and welcoming. It feels like a school that is moving upward and in the right direction; I couldn’t be happier and I have no doubt that I made the right choice for me.

Vassar is…goodness, Vassar is beautiful. It’s worth a visit just to see the trees. Poughkeepsie is…less than desirable, but the college itself is wonderful, the campus is beautiful, and the students are interesting, to say the least.

Come for a visit, or do both. I would, personally, do both even if it meant shortening other visits, especially if you want to do ED.
