Actually Tyler, I worked as a Human Resources analyst at Eaton Corporation’s Truck Transmissions Headquarters in Galesburg, Michigan for 2 years (2002-2004). Galesburg is located 10-15 miles away from Kalamazoo, where I lived during that period. We certainly recruited many excellent Engineers from Western and attended several of Western’s career fairs. However, as I mentioned above, the majority of recruiters on campus seemed to be regional (the Auto-makers and suppliers, Whirlpool, Kellogg, Upjohn, Down, L.Z.Boy etc…).

Furthermore, Western’s Engineering facilties were modern and, although not state-of-the-art, certainly quite good.

This said, the OP has mentioned that his goal is to work as an EE at a cutting-edge tech firm, possible on the West Coast. If that is his goal, and assuming attending Michigan will not place too much of a burden on his family, Michigan over Western makes sense.

I don’t think you necessarily disagreed with me. The same could be said of most other regional colleges in many states across the country. Graduating from WMU places one among them. I assume that because the OP even asked the question, he isn’t the type that wants to simply deal with the future when it comes; he we wants to be proactive and make a decision that won’t hinder him in the pursuit of his goal.

I agree Tyler. Western has a strong regional reputation, but once you leave the state of Michigan, Northeastern Illinois, Northern Indiana, and Northwestern Ohio, WMU will not be a factor.

“Ap English was excellent and so was my grade along with all my other previous English courses. Again you are ridiculous and suggest for you to make comments towards OP question instead of showing that you know nothing at all.”

If what you said above is true, then you still failed to learn proper grammar. Coolbrezze, your writing ability is atrocious and inexcusable. Do you realize that many posters (including myself) over the months have brought attention to this issue? It doesn’t take a genius to realize that you need to address it. Stop denying it.
