WF and Transfer Credit From A Two Yr School

I thought everyone should know that Wake Forest University doesn't accept any credit from a two yr Community College. However, you can still be admitted, but you have to start as a freshman all over again. My advice don't apply to WF.

I responded to your thread in the parents forum, so I won't bother repeating myself here, except to say that I don't think this is exactly true, unless they've changed their policies very recently.

As I said in the other thread, it's always been difficult to get credit for a course from a community college, but it can be done (and I did it), though usually it's up to the department giving credit for the course.

Please don't go telling others not to apply to Wake. It's a difficult school to get into, and they want to make sure the students are learning the correct material. They don't know what was taught at a community college, so they can't accept all credits.

I want to reiterate by saying that two yr. community college students, shouldn't apply to Wake because they will lose alot of credits. However if your a two yr. community college freshman, it can't hurt your chances because, you'll just be a freshman all over again. Hence, you guys don't have anything to lose.

ginnyvere, I want to make a retraction because I stand corrected. The courses listed below are the only ones for certain that don't accept work from a ty yr. school. WFU | Registrar's Office

Anthropology

Biology

Business

Chemistry

English

Philosophy

Physics

Psychology

Sociology

Women's Studies

Also, ginnyvere, it's not that difficult to get work accepted from a two yr. school because, I have 69 credits and was accepted to Tulane in the spring and they took 60 credits of mine. Penn State gave me 70 credits, which was weird, considering I only have 69. However I couldn't forsee myself at any of these institutions. Plus some institutions have articulation agreements with other four and two yr schools. For example, Georgia Tech is one of those places. Here is a link that will take you to their transfer credit website. https://oscar.gatech.edu/pls/bprod/wwtraneq.P_TranEq_Ltr

I actually meant that it's been difficult to get credit at Wake for community college classes (at least for as long as I know about). I don't know a whole lot about the agreements that other schools have.
