I know I want to apply to Penn ED in the fall but can't decide between these two schools. I am very interested in undergrad business but I fear Wharton kids are too intense. Is this true? What are the pros and cons of each school?

Question is can you get into wharton

If you want to study undergrad business apply to Wharton. If you feel the kids at a school are too intense imagine how it will be in the real world when money and jobs are at stake instead of grades.

I for one would always recommend an undergraduate liberal arts education over a business one.

Enroll in the college and then pick and choose business courses from wharton as you deem fit. That's what I did, and it worked out rather well ;)

ilovebagels unless you are an i-banker making 100,000+ then i don't think things worked out rather well

to the TC, you need to go to wharton if you want to be taken seriously in the real world.

I too was interested in Penn, to the extent that I thought applying to the ridiculopusly selective Wharton school could ruin my chances of going there completely. Still, when I considered it, I figured that I might as well aim high since Wharton is really what got me excited about Penn in the first place. In the end, I was accepted to Wharton, so I'm glad I went for it.
Of course, if you are ambivalent, pick CAS as you will not quite the same competition (though CAS is still very selective itself).

P.S. Just assume Freetense is joking. :) If not, it's still worth a laugh.

comments like freetense's are what really making people hate i-banker wannabes...

I'm going to presume as well as hope he's being ironic, because otherwise I will have to slap him silly. Mengcheng, fetch me my slapping gloves.

dont worry about the intensity, go for wharton. if you don't, then you will regret not applying. if it doesn't work out, then it wasn't meant to be.

Padfoot- I feel like my situation is like yours. What were ur stats like?

my situation was that i LOVED penn, and ideally I wanted to go to wharton, but CAS was perfectly fine for me. I decided that I would be mad at myself if I applied to Wharton and got rejected, ruining my chances at Penn completely. So, I decided to apply to the college, but i also applied to the LSM vagelos program just to give myself a shot at Wharton. And i got in, so I guess it all worked out. If you're well qualified, go for Wharton.
