What activities should I do as a pre-med student?

So I am about to enter my first year as a pre-med undergraduate student. I was wondering what kinds of activities I should have under my belt in order to be a strong candidate for medical school. I was considering working in a university science lab as an undergraduate intern as well as volunteering at a university/nearby hospital. Are there any other activities that I should be doing in order to strengthen my application for medical school? (Besides getting good grades and scoring well on the MCAT, I know all that, I just want to know some recommended activities for an undergraduate pre-med student.)

Med school applicants are expected to have all of the following:

–community service (non-medical)
–medical volunteering that includes clinical experiences (direct patient contact)
–clinical or bench research
–physician shadowing
–leadership activities/positions

Some med adcomms also highly value teaching and tutoring.

Your ECs should reflect your interests and should not be random, check 'em off the list activities.
