Hello!
I have to use my family friend's address as my permanent address for school because I don't qualify to attend there with my address(I'd have to go to a different, less academic, district). The family friend's address is on my transcript. I was going to sign up on Common Application but it asked for my permanent address and I am unsure what to put. Can I put my real one? I don't want to use the family friend's address because they lose a lot mail I'm supposed to get and I don't trust them with my acceptance/rejection letters. I'm sorry if I'm making a bigger issue than it is but I am a bit of a worry wart, especially when it's something important to me.
Thank you.

The forms you give to your school and teachers will have the address you use. I suggest using the address that they know. Otherwise, you risk being asked a lot of questions.

A lot of schools can inform you on-line of your status (acceptance/rejection).

One thing you can do: Apply with your “school address”, and after the deadline for applications (and it is complete), inform the college of a “change of address” to your real address. Then, all future correspondence will go to your permanent address.

BTW: On your mid-year and final grade report, you may want to still have the “school address” on it. Maybe wait until after the mid-year grades are sent to change your address.
