My question to you guys is how much information do colleges see about SAT? For example, if your school averages a 700+ math SAT score, but I score <700, do they see your percentile within high school?

I don't know how the scores are formatted when college admissions officers see them, such as national percentile, state or school. Does anyone know what is included with the College Board's SAT report?

Your counselor will send along a school profile that may list, among other things, the average SAT scores for your school. Mine lists the number of AP classes we offer and which ones, graduation rates, average GPAs, and average SAT scores. Remember, admissions officers strive to consider you in the context of your school and your environment.

However, unless you attend a super small magnet school for the gifted, I would seriously question the school average of a 700+.

That example was simply made up; a more realistic number is in the 550 range. I was wondering mainly how counselors would look at above average SAT scores with the IB Diploma (~3.9GPA). There is a good percentage (~15%) of people scoring higher in each SAT section than I am, so I am not like 99% for my school. I was really wondering if they would see this and know that while my rank is good, there are still students performing above my SAT marks. Do you know if they see the percentile of where you are in your school? (Not necessarily the average, but more looking at percentiles.)
