I am currently in grade 11, and I am planning to take AP Physics and AP Calulus. However, the AP Physics' format is changed, so I want to take it in grade 12. Is that fine if I want to enter any Ivy school? Will taking courses in grade 12 affect the view from the admission's officer? In addition, what other AP's or SATII do I need to enter engineering school such as Stanford, the Ivy's, MIT and etc?

Plz help me out!!!

1) You posted this early in the morning and then posted again within minutes begging for help. That’s not good forum etiquette and is honestly rather obnoxious. Don’t do it.

2) The entrance exams you should take depend on the schools. You will need to check with those schools to see what requirements you must fulfill. Generally, that information is easy to find on their admissions website.

3) I don’t see why taking AP Physics in the 12th grade would hurt you. Admissions officers like to see that you’ve challenged yourself and taken advantage of whatever relevant courses were available to you, but it shouldn’t matter in what order you take them, only that you do.

4) Don’t get so hung up on the Ivies. Generally, they aren’t very good at engineering anyway with a few exceptions.

If you have a choice between AP Physics I/II, which are algebra based, and AP Physics C (either mechanics or E/M), which is calculus based, take the the calculus based one. More helpful when you get to college. Heard this from more than one engineering dean during engineering open house. S agrees his AP Physics C courses were the right move.

Only AP Physics C (M±EM) with score 5 is qualified for credits at UMich CoE, for instance.
