I’ve heard that education is an easy major from some sources, and others say that it’s tough as nails. I would liketo know what education classes are like. I’m interested in psychology and policy making, and variety is a necessity. Are those present in education classes? Thanks!
It depends on your university curriculum and concentration as well as your persistence in completing them. I originally started as a music education major but changed after my first year. I only got through an introductory class but it was fairly difficult because our program is pretty rigorous. A typical education class entails in classroom observations, research papers, mock teaching and lesson planning exercises, etc. They try to make it as close to a classroom environment as possible.
It depends on a million factors.
The best of them try to give you a clue as to how to effectively communicate information to your kids while still managing the other million factors involved in teaching.
Probably a better way to evaluate them would be through the course descriptions, then a question on the school’s message board about that particular course.
