What are my chances? And sororities

ACT: 25 but I am retaking and shooting for a 27.
SAT: I am taking June 7th, I will probably get around the 1600 mark.
GPA: I'm only a junior but I'm guessing I'll finish with at least a 3.2
AP: 3 classes by the time hs is over.
I am in state! Also, what are sororities like here? Are they good sororities to join? And what are the costs for IUB sororities?

You should be fine on admission. Just make sure you apply as soon as the application opens in August or as soon as your high school starts back up in the fall.

Sorority rush is pretty competitive. Sororities are only allowed to issue bids for the number of beds they will have open the following year. About 1/2 of the rushees receive bids. IU has a reputation for being one of the toughest sorority recruitments in the country.
Costs vary based upon the sorority.

Sorority recruitment is HIGHLY competitive. You should try to keep your reputation squeaky clean during the fall of your freshman year, and try to keep as high a GPA as you can. If you can befriend any sorority women in high school or through clubs or classes, that helps even more

I have no idea about rushing, but about your chances, I’d say make yourself stand out. IU requires a MINIMUM of 3.2 for admission and depending on how late you apply, you may not get in. I say apply early so your chances are better and make sure you find some things that stand out about you.

I second the advice about sororities above. Signup typically is in October, rush begins in December.

I “third” the input about sororities. IU has the reputation of having one of the most (if not THE most) competitive sorority recruitments in the country. The main reason is that most of the sororities base their pledge class quota on the number of beds available, where at most other universities quota is based on the number of women going through preference round (500 women / 10 sororities = quota of 50). My advice is to keep your reputation clean, keep your GPA high, and get involved first semester so you can meet (and make a good impression on) as many sorority women as possible. If you are a legacy of any sorority, make sure your mom/grandmother/sister/aunt submits a legacy form by October of your freshman year. Last year at least some sororities had informal get-togethers first semester for legacies, giving you an early chance to make a good impression. Recruitment is now all in January.
