What are my chances and where should I go?

Hello fellow browsers! Thx for stopping by this post.
I am a ninth grader currently enrolled in a pretty good school district. However, I don’t like the environment that I am in right now. The schools aren’t supportive of my extra curricular, and I am just not having a great time here. I used to go to a private school(It was one of the top schools in my area), so I thought I should return to one of them. But the COVID situation made my life so miserable that I can’t foresee any futures :frowning: . I don’t know where should I apply or should I even go… Receiving some advises would means the world to me! Here are my stats

Academic:
I am freshman and an all A’s student with 3 honors and taking pre calculus at the moment. I took Latin for 3 years and received 1 perfect score on the National Latin exam, and 1 second place winner. I am really big on histories, Philosophies, and may be some political science. I am terrible at standardized testings, for now… Therefore I cannot include my SSAT into my resume… That might be a huge blow to my application. My recommendations might make up for my academics??

EC:
I play a lot of competitive golf, and I’ve been improving through hard work. I shoot in the 70s mostly, and some in the low 80s, I guess I can say I am good, but not an insane stud. I was also an elected student council member, not sure if it counts as an EC but I wish I can continue. I was also a decent stage performer, and starred in 3 shows, two required signings. I also look forward to join speech and debate, and also MUN, and maybe writings. I think I have the capability to do well, but I just don’t have anything to show. If the school gives me a chance, I might do football.

I guess what makes me special is my speaking skills, passion, great community spirit(I LOVE GOING AND CHEER FOR GAMES), and the ability to lead (lol I hope this doesn’t cringe you ). I am currently looking at andover, Exeter and Hill. I think my interviews went pretty well, although I didn’t really receive anything like “You are a great fit”. I really REALLY want to go to a decent boarding school that I can excel, and chase my dreams. My willingness to go haunts me every night for fearing that I may not make it. I am looking for a school that has opportunities, a strong community, and guidances for my life. I am very frustrated, and miserable about my future and life, I just hope I can get an opportunity to get out. Some advises would mean the world to me! Thank y’all so much for reading this!!!
Happy Early Christmas!
PS: no finical aid needed.

Research more schools and try to find a few that will fit your personality and need what you have to offer. Exeter and Andover are extremely difficult to gain admittance, while Hill has a distinctive culture that may or may not suit you. If you want to increase your odds of at least one acceptance, you should apply to at least three more schools that are not as difficult as Exeter and Andover to gain admittance. As most schools are SSAT optional this year, if not above 85% I would say don’t submit your scores unless the school requires. And try to find something within your extracurriculars that shows a desire to serve others. Good luck.

@ameridad Thank you so much for the advice, I will look up more schools

There are so many schools that could be the school for you. Don’t limit yourself to Exeter and Andover (I don’t know anything about Hill). If going to boarding school is really important to you, you need a much broader list. What you have described can happen at many many boarding schools in the US, it doesn’t have to be the two most well known schools.

There are several current threads with good broad lists - hopefully you can find them in this new format.
