What are my chances as a-future-undergraduate international student

Hi everyone
I am so excited to write to you!!
So, I am Tunisian (Northern Africa-Arab-Below Italy).
And two months ago thanks to Amideast(USA EDUCATION CENTER) i've heard for the first time about the possibility of going to Study in the US

And since Our family income can't be compared to the american lifestyle i've decided to aim high and have a shot at applying to the most selective colleges
and to be honnest I've always heard and dreamt of princeton.

So, as for my capabilities (which is a bit hard to translate to the american educational system) let me first tell you that english is my THIRD language after arabic and french and i speak german too.

Ok ,the Sat , Ihaven't took but a practise site offers a predicatble minimum score all i had to do was having a diagnostic in the 3 sections and then practise for two hours and
i received a minimum score of 2200: 780Math-720 Reading-700Writing
but i know that with some practise i could have 2300

As for my academics i am the top of my pionner high scholl(top 3 HS in the country) and my GP varies from 90 -94 (i have to say compared to my country HS my school is pretty competitive) and in my senior school (that's when i and my peers start work seriously i could have 97/100)

As for my extra-curricular activities i play chess tennis and MAth olympiads in addition to mathematical games(top in the country and going to compete in the international in france with great chances).I have many other extra-currilcular activitites but never had a good position .

SO, i am still thinking of the essay and reading some books(HArry potter dan braown and sometimes shakespeare) Toefl llokks easy and the sat Subject tests i'll have to prepare the new english scientific vocabulary)

So as an international student :what are my chances at Mit or Princeton and Thanks

i’m not sure how URM affects international applicants? Maybe they cancel each other out? :]

But for internationals you need a 2300+ SAT, and I am not sure about the financial assistance that internationals receive. You most likely already know this but it is much harder to get in as an international applicant, but your ethnicity also brings diversity to the campus.

Lastly, and maybe most importantly, you need really stellar and impressive EC’s if you want to study in top tier colleges.

Hello daniel
Finaaly someone answered thanks
As for the sat i could easily get 2300 with some practise and even more
Ec’s:tennis IMO, mathematic game(international) and could be in :MODEL UN
As for the financial aid most international receive aid(87/100) in MIT and this is what distinguishes such schools need-blind .
And i could be the first tunisian going to such great colleges(but not the first arab)

So what do you think!!

You don’t necessarily need 2300 as an international. I got 2230, and that was sufficient.
Ghastn, your English needs some work, but the fact that it’s your third language is quite impressive. Your Math sounds good, and your position at your school is also a plus. MIT might be within reach for you if you capitalize on that, and it frankly sounds like more of a fit than Princeton (with its liberal arts focus).
I would further just point out that proof-reading is always a good idea (and it seems from your first post not to be one that occurred to you  ).

@JAupiais

Let me first tell you: thanks for answering, i was looking forward for a new post.
As for my english, I hope i haven’t given you a wrong impression, in fact, i usually don’t proof-read while writing in forums!
Besides, i am still not used to my new keypad!
So, you see why i made many mistakes but that isn’t my real level:(I got 720 IN CRwithout revising doesn’t that say Sth about my level):Anyway ,there is no doubt that i need to further improve my level if i ever want to study in the US.
As, for the MIT choice:to be honest, that is my first choice: it is just that i wanted to check other forums and Universities for further information.
But you really gave me hope with your answer.

just want to add for EC’s:

*could be in Model Un
*could get in the IMO 2012
*Going to the international mathematical games(hopefully:it’s easy)
*Kangoroo competition first in the country

So what are my chances (SAt 2300+ possibly:easily).

All in All, i’s not as if i wanted a percentage of chance, i just wanted a moral lift
to know whether may dream has anything of concrete, to know whether i am ever going to get a bit close to my everlasting dream.

Thanks
