Colleges I’m thinking of applying to:
1. MIT (early action) (haha, I gotta apply at least)
2. CalTech (Early Action)
3. UPenn (Early Decision) or Dartmouth Early Decision
4. Carnegie Mellon (Regular Action)
5. Georgia Tech (Early Action)

6. University of Illinois at UC (Early Action)
7. Princeton (Early Action)
8. UT Austin (Priority deadline)
9. University of Michigan Ann Arbor (Early Action)
10. Northwestern (Regular)
11. Boston Uni (Regular)
12. Penn State (Early Action) (i'm not entirely sure if I'll apply here)

Is there any chance that I’ll make it to any one of these colleges? Should I expand my list more?

Thank you so much in advance

Princeton’s EA is single choice. So you cannot apply at the same time as ED to another college. Apart from that, the plan above looks reasonable. You should consider adding an ED2 choice. But given your need for financial aid, it will be tough.

Also note that the state schools will probably not give you any financial aid. Even though you are a US citizen, you are not an instate resident. So would consider removing Illinois, UT Austin, GA Tech and Michigan. Run the net price calculators on each website to see if your parents can afford it.

There is no EA at Princeton for this cycle, only one due date for all.

OP is currently a junior and not applying this cycle. Which also makes any chancing difficult as final grades for 11th and projection for 12th as well as SAT scores are unknown.

OP, regarding your first sentence: you will be a domestic applicant for all (not most) colleges, but you will be in-state for none of the publics. Most of the publics on your list are tough for out of state applicants. You need matches and safeties. So far I only see Penn State and maybe BU as possible matches (BU’s admit rate in the teens tends to tip it into more of a reach).

“Financial Aid needed (at least 40-50%)”

How much can you afford to pay? Have you run the NPCs on the schools on your list?
