What are my chances at NYU so far...?

<p>Hi,
I'm new to College Confidential and I'm curious as to what my chances are for NYU Stern are as a junior... could someone chance me? Here are my statsss:</p>

<p>Freshman Year Grades:
Honors Geometry: B-
Honors Biology: B
Honors English 9: B+
Honors World History: B</p>

<p>Sophomore Year Grades:
Honors Algebra II: B
Honors Chemistry: B
Honors American Lit.: B-
Honors American History: B
Spanish III: A-</p>

<p>Junior Year Classes:
Honors Spanish IV
Honors Pre-Calc
CP British Literature
CP Physics
AP Government and Economics (this class prepares students for two AP tests in one course :D)</p>

<p>Is it bad that I moved from Honors to regular? My GPA stinks and I took some regular core classes to try to cushion my GPA... Please tell me your advice! </p>

<p>My SAT score is a 1910; I'm trying to get it over a 2000. Also, I am a junior blackbelt at taekwondo (going to be a 1st degree in March... if i pass :P) and I've played piano for 8 years. I volunteer in Newark and tutor needy kids who are struggling in middle school, and I make origami and decorations at my school's Cancer Club; the decorations are for hospitals, but particularly cancer patients. </p>

<p>Please tell me what I should improve on before it's too late; my dream school is NYU Stern. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!</p>

<p>Also, do colleges include Senior Year GPA?</p>

<p>I would suggest that you work on your gpa, and getting a higher SAT score will def help! Maybe try taking the act as well just to see how well you do on a different test. In addition, have more leadership roles. THe only college that gets your senior gpa is the one that you decide to enroll in</p>

<p>I would say it is a reach for Stern and a high match for CAS…</p>

<p>i also forgot to include that i got an A- in Spanish II freshman year :stuck_out_tongue: (if that makes much of a difference…)
if i include that i’m second generation Vietnamese (my parents came to the U.S. during the Vietnam War) and that everyday i take care of my sisters because my parents work late and i make them dinner and help them with their hw, would that help my application?</p>
