What are my chances at these schools?

So I’m a high school senior, and I’ve got a few colleges I know are reaches, but I’m curious. I plan to major in accounting, with a second option of either Political Science or Elementary education (I know, three very different careers).

Academics:
GPA: UW 2.7 (School doesn’t weight based on AP or honors? That or they don’t tell us our weighted but they’ve only told us one and its not weighted)
ACT score: 27 composite
School won’t tell us our rank until graduation? So I really don’t know.
Honor roll Freshman Year, Sophomore Year, and first term senior year)
Four APs total (max allowed by my high school - two per year for only juniors and seniors)

EC (kinda a laundry list, sorry I like being involved)
Student Council (11 - Present)
Model United Nations - (10 - Present)
Club Treasurer and Co-Press Secretary - (12 - Present)
Peer Mediation - Student leadership (10 - Present)
Senior Mentor - (12 - Present)
Students for Students - (11 - Present)
Debate Club - (12 - Present)
Club Treasurer - (12 - Present)
Junior Prom Committee (2015-2016)
Yearbook (12 - Present)

Lots of volunteer work, but its mostly local stuff so I’m not going to list that on this site (obviously its on my application) but its some from 2011-2014, some from 2014 to present, maybe about 60 hours a year? Once I get my own car I’m going to volunteer at my local cancer center and/or my local animal shelter.

I have a killer essay according to my english teachers who read it, and my recommendations are from teachers who really know me well, and who are known for writing some of the best college rec letters.
So my GPA. My guidance counselor is explaining it all in her rec, and told me to explain it in my extra info section. My high school track hasn’t been the easiest, I lost my mom to cancer freshman year, then my uncle two months later (who dropped in front of me, my dad, and his kids), and then pneumonia a month after. Sophomore year I struggled with how my life went freshman year, and then junior year I got a severe pneumonia that put me in the hospital, and I wasn’t able to bounce back. My grades dropped severely junior year, but they’re on an upswing, even though I have a severe concussion (lol my life). My transcript looks better (All A’s, B’s, and one C+… a 79… until my junior year, now all A’s and B’s in senior year grades)
I’ll be the first in my family to attend college, and I go to an increasingly competitive STEM oriented school in Massachusetts.

Colleges I’m looking at:

Syracuse University (visited, got an interview that went incredibly, applying ED)
Boston College
Boston University
UMass Amherst
University of Rhode Island
Johnson and Wales (Rhode Island)
Bryant University
Quinnipiac University

So what are my chances at these colleges?

Oh also, for course load
Freshman Year: Four honors classes
Sophomore Year: Four honors classes
Juniore Year: 2 honors, 2 AP (US History and Language/Comp, both 4s)
Senior Year: 2 honors, 2 AP (Comparative Government/Politics and Statistics)

bump, please help I really would like to know it’s driving me insane

First and foremost I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the passing of your loved ones.

Syracuse, Boston U, and Boston College will all be high reaches because a 2.7 unweighted gpa is lower than their average, however, your story which you can highlight in your essay will allow them to understand and they may accept you .

Umass Amherst is a low reach

University of Rhode Island, Bryant, Quinnipiac, and Johnson and Wales are all safety schools for you which means you’ll defenitely get in , in my opinion and according to statistics

Good luck

Oh I’m sorry, I skipped over the part where you wrote about your interview with Syracuse

That increases your chances exponentially and the fact that you’re applying ED will only better your chance. I think there is 65-85% chance of you getting into Syracuse now. The interview is a game changer

Keep me updated when you get the results

My essay, which was question 1, was involving the passing of my mom, and how for a long time I tried to avoid the identity that was given to me as “The girl who’s mom died” but I eventually realized that it’s a part of who I am and it makes me a person I’m proud to be and I wouldn’t change that, so it was kind of a spin on the “identity that your application would be incomplete without”. I expected UMass Amherst to be a reach as their school is increasingly competitive, and BU/BC as well, but it’s really good to know how much of a game changer interviews are, especially with how well it went. Thank you so much!

You will be fine for Syracuse. Not sure about BU or BC because of your 2.7 GPA

I considered BU and BC a huge stretch to begin with, Syracuse is my absolute favorite school and so that’s why I was a little concerned.
