what are my chances for a HARVARD MBA regular/2+2

I'm from india,
undergraduating in BACHELORS OF ENGINEERING (mechanical), (from a reputed college, keeping in mind none of our colleges are recognised by the US)
Cgpa 3.7/4
What are my chances to get admission for mba 2+2 at harvard if i manage to get a 750+ GMAT score or will the latter support me (assuming i get 2 years work experience from finance giants)

I have a decent extra curricular record

Kindly suggest !

high reach if not impossible. sorry .
but anything is still possible… good luck!

Sent from my GT-I9300 using CC

Can you please specify the reason
it would be highly helpful

@Fardon, Extremely high reach.

Unless you are graduating from an absolutely amazing engineering college (e.g. one of the old IITs), have near perfect CGPA, and have a near perfect GMAT, along with an incredible role in top companies, it is nearly impossible to get into Harvard MBA, especially as an international.

U mean that harvard gives more preference to college eventhough the guy has a 770 gmat and a university topper with good extracurriculars

Tell us what extracurriculars exactly. College still matters quite a bit. What’s your rank at college? Is it actually 1, or are you using a more general definition of “topper”?

I think you might be underestimating the selection rates of Harvard - they regularly deny some of the most brightest and talented people in the world.

The issue is that you appear to stress your college record and GMAT more than your work experience.

Getting into a top MBA will be a high reach unless if you have a very strong track record already. Especially for internationals, work at a top company for a few years is especially important. By this, I mean a manager at Google, consultant at McKinsey, or the like.

Precisely what Bubbles said. In fact, I’ve known people that have come from pretty good (i.e. top 5) colleges (e.g. for computer science, UIUC), but, with pretty bad GPAs (e.g. 2.9-3.2) but with excellent positions in the industry (e.g. Microsoft, Google) that have made it into Wharton or HBS.

Thank you guys for your responce

i study in a university handling 600 colleges.
yeah i have been ranked one among the university for my gpa and very soon going to be confered a gold medalist.

I think my gmat score is decent.

But my university is well recognized in my country not worldwide… don’t know how much it will effect me

Moreover I’m planning to apply for havard 2+2 mba program…

ndian engineer…a much better college gmat 770 Gpa 9.2 university topper coordinator of 4 intercollege symbosiums team leader at a car racing competion in which we represented our state Worn many english elecution and technical level competitions …just to name a few…

Went for training at worlds best car companies
Worked for 2 great NGOs
Did one research paper
member of MENSA
what are my chances for harvard as a fresher for its 2+2 mba program

Unless you make it to a top company with a great position, I don’t see strong chances for you.

MENSA is basically irrelevant, as well as one research paper done during university (unless it was presented at a major conference).

Oh…hope u didn’t get me is job necessary as I’m applying only as a fresher at 2+2 mba…
