Also, my country's biggest daily has done an article on me and my works.

WHAT ARE MY CHANCES FOR CORNELL/STANFORD etc. ( and will i get financial aid )

Unfortunately, you have little to no chance at either school. Your grades and scores are far too low. You’re also international? That makes it even more difficult.

@noel597‌ agreed, my grades are not great. but i have always felt my extra-curriculars would get me out of jail.
all the things i’ve developed, the fact that i’m earning etc. ( which has prompted a national daily to do an article on me ) stand for nothing, mate ?

I’d love to say you stand a great chance, but there are some things you can definitely work on before submitting your application!

First off, you can definitely improve your SAT scores. If you’re not an international student, it will be tricky for you (but not math, I see!), and unfortunately, because not many international students are accepted, you will have to do better than the average student applying to the school. When you look at the SAT score ranks of the schools, aim to be at the 75% rank. That’s my philosophy :)

Also, your ECs are great, but they’re all in-school things! It’s great to see you’re so involved in school things, but what about outside of school? Do you do state competitions? You’ve shown that you stand out of the students at your school, but what about students from the rest of your town or your country?

They don’t. $22 is nothing, really.
And you’re an international. I’m sorry, but I highly highly doubt it.

@anniesunshine‌ I know that you’re trying to help, but you must realize just how hard it is for an international student.

@noel597 I do know how hard it is for an international student, I’m Chinese and I tutor all of the Chinese students in my city who come over to the US to go to college ;)

@noel597‌ so basically, its grades or nothing then ?

And scores… your 75% translates to a 2.0…

@anniesunshine‌ my country has a population of over a billion people :stuck_out_tongue:
what i mainly am is an entrepreneur.
$22 might be less, but that might be because the website started off on the 20th of June ?
and monetarily speaking, i’ve made websites professionally for clients, who’ve paid me approx. $85 per site.
i have a team of 15 people currently working under me for my website.
so basically entrepreneurship is my thing

oh and yes, @anniesunshine‌
i participated in an International English Olympiad, and ended up with an international rank of 41, and a state rank of 2 ^_^

@noel597‌ does it !! :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
the highest a kid got in my grade was like an 83% !! :open_mouth: :O

Okay, so if you have all of these accomplishments and the National Daily even did an article on you, why didn’t you put it in your description?

I quote Student615 in this:
“If you’re not getting the responses you want, don’t get mad at posters and then reveal some “secret weapon” to your application”

@anniesunshine i put in the national daily thing. forgot this other stuff :stuck_out_tongue:
anyways, how is 75% a 2.0 :O

Missed that part apparently!

75% is the same as a 2.5 in the US GPA. 90-100% in a class is 4.0, 80% is a 3.0, so 75% is a 2.5.

Most of the top colleges you’re looking at want at least a 3.5 and above.

is there a reason behind your low GPA? if so, mention it in your app! otherwise, chances are pretty low
