GPA:
3.78 (Unweighted)
4.06 (Weighted)

SAT:
1940
710 in writing
690 in math
540 in reading

I have some other unique credentials, including that I write for the Huffington Post, but I don't expect this to carry my whole application for me. Since my SAT is lower than I wanted it to be, I plan on retaking it next fall.

If Carleton is your first choice, I would highly recommend applying ED. Looking at their stats, it could improve your chances quite a bit. Definitely retake SAT and also take the ACT. GPA is probably okay with a rigorous schedule.

Thanks again for the advice guys! Just for others wanting to get a point of reference, I got waitlisted with a 29 ACT and 4.06
Sorry about the WL, but thanks for that data point. Where do you think you’ll go?
Probably Kenyon, SLC, or Vassar. While Vassar is a waitlist like Carleton, I would be willing to commit there
Good luck to you! Plenty of good options!
If that’s the case, make sure you tell Vassar that – if you were to come off the WL you would commit to attending. Right now, it’s largely about yield for the college; letting them know that could make a difference. But in the meantime, embrace your options and put a deposit down at a college where you have been accepted. Good luck!
