Wow you have a lot of awards! I think you have a great chance at all these schools. I will say though that your ECs are a bit unfocused as they don’t all relate to engineering or STEM. I would say make sure you use your essays to explain your wide array of interests while giving them a focus. You are certianly a well rounded candidate with a good shot…good luck!

Thanks! Idk I thought that having diverse awards would make me seem well-rounded, that’s why I have awards all over the place.

Wow, you look great. I want to ED to Columbia, as well. It’s my 1st choice! I hope you get in

I think you have a relatively good shot at Columbia. The chances are still low, but they are low for nearly everyone. Your interest in science is communicated well through your ECs and awards. Good luck

Even though I want a STEM related profession, I feel that my best award (history bee) is in history. Will that raise an eyebrow or hurt my chances for the Fu engineering school?

I don’t really know, but from what I’ve heard it’s generally a good idea to have a strong focus that can be backed up with concrete evidence (a medal/trophy/certificate) even if it’s not related to your major. It shows commitment and interest.

Ok thanks for the input!

Yeah, of course! Any time. Hey, if you get into Columbia, can you get a job on the adcom and get me in? (JK!!)

I’ll see what I can do

  XD
