I am an upcoming senior in high school, and one of the colleges I would love to go to is Purdue. I heard that to get into Purdue, you have to have around a 3.7 gpa, and around a 2000 sat score, is that true? Also does Purdue take weighted gpa or unweighted ?

I wanted to apply for Purdue as a Business Major, would Purdue be considered a reach for me? What are my chances ?

I have a 3.45 cumulative gpa, and a little over 2000 sat score.

Some of my EC's are:

- instructor/teacher Safe Kids Red Cross committee
- part of the Disaster committee
- I'm also an active volunteer at Sacred Hearts.
- I volunteer at a local hospital, Kaiser
- I also actively participate in Leo Club,CSF (Cal. Scholarship Federation),FBLA, Interact Club, Red Cross at my school.

Overall, I have around 300 hours of documented volunteer hours.

I really would love to go to Purdue. Please let me know if I have any chance at all in getting in! Thank you !

College Board has GPA’s listed for schools on their website, but i’ve found them to be somewhat inaccurate. According to them, 12% of enrolled freshman had between a 3.25 and 3.49. About 50% had above a 3.75. Again, i’ve found those numbers to be skewed a lot of times IMO.

I know this is on a very different note, but do I have a chance of being considered at Texas A&M, and Penn State. I know both will be reaches for me, but will I have any possible chance of being considered into the business program at either places?I write good essays, and have already finished my common app,as I’ve been writing and editing all summer. Hopefully that will at least get me into the borderline. Please let me know if I could have a chance at these schools.

Sorry if I am supposed to be starting a new thread for this, this is my second time using this website…

Your SAT score is slightly above and your GPA is slightly below the average applicant. You should get in though. Texas A&M is a full tier below Purdue/Penn State also.
