Reed is definitely a reach school for me. I just want to know if I even have a shot…
I’m an out of state female rising senior. My stats are as follows:
3.94 UW GPA (my school doesn’t do weighted)
1380 SAT (will be taking again in Oct - kind of late, I know)
I’ve taken one AP class (US History, got a 4 on the exam), but all my classes junior and senior year were/will be at a community college (dual enrollment program)
As for extracurriculars, I’m in the National Honor Society (since sophomore year), and I was in a small club that helps welcome the exchange students by learning about each other’s cultures/cultural backgrounds.
Thank you!
The Reed Class of 2020 had average SAT of 1377 and average GPA of 3.9.

Your numbers are obviously in line with those of enrolled students, so clearly you have a shot. I know one kid who got into Reed, and he also took CC classes while in high school.
On the other hand, the numbers for admitted students are probably higher than those for enrolled students. So by that standard, your numbers may be on the low side (unless your SAT goes up on the retake). Given the current numbers, Reed may be a reach, though not a huge one.
Note that Reed has a higher acceptance rate than most top LACS (31% last year). And there is no application fee. So it’s definitely worth a try.
