Is your SAT out of 1600? All those colleges are semi to very selective, and even more so for international students. If the SAT is out of 1600, i think your set for your grades and test scores. Your ECs as well are spectacular but long-winded, i think your biggest issue with be the actual application and letting your passions and personality shine through (but isn’t that everyones?)
Lots of kids have 1580 out of 1600 but few have as many hooks as you. Your books are interesting. I am aware of a New Jersey college that would value your equine interests. Any others value equestrians?
Babson and and NYU are shoo-ins without the hooks if you are truly 1580 out of 1600 and do not need financial aid. Don’t know much about Stanford because it is untouchable for a typical straight “A” American with 700s and no hooks.
This is going to come as a shock that I even applied to these schools, but it’s actually a 1580/2400. Also, I forgot to mention that I got a 760 bio and 750 math 2 and my sister goes to Brown… Do I still have even the tiniest chance?
Whoa. You in a heap a trouble now. A hook also requires that you are near the 25 percentile. All the coaches push my kid to retake the SAT and achieve their 50 percentile level.
You have the the tiniest chance, if you’re willing to count a rounding error. Fewer than 1% of Stanford students have SAT scores in that range, and I suspect most are close members of the dean’s family or children of world leaders.
What matters, is whether, the country is sending a lot of applicants to US colleges. Seems, not, to be the case. Anyway given that you don’t need aid(Intls seeking aid, are in a more competitive pool). I’d say you definitely, have a chance.
I say NYU will be very easy for you, and they value extra curriculars over test scores (from what I have seen, personally) but make sure you do another SAT subject test, and you’ll be GOLDEN
Your stories are really really interesting and you’re a unique applicant, i think as an admissions officer, I would be able to look past a number. But then again, I’m not LOL
You have a chance at NYU considering your hooks, great EC, and SAT II. Not sure if you have a good enough chance at Stanford considering the SAT I grade.
