I assume you're talking about showing interest in schools, not nixing the car wash details........

well, visiting helps! Is there an admissions councilor coming to your area? Go to their program/talk/whatever it is (I think in my area last year they had a desserts reception thing in a nearby hotel). Interview. Send in your app early. And relax. If they like you, you'll find that they genuinely want you to come, and will pull out all the stops (almost). And if they don't like you, that's okay too. Maybe some other school really is a better fit. Next year, wherever you end up going, I'm sure you'll feel much better, and look back on the whole application process as a bunch of needless stress (at least I do : ) .....and I'll say that originally WashU wasn't my first choice. Now it is though! And I'm so glad I came here!)

Okay....now that it's gotten way off track, I'll stop.....hope I answered your question though

My stats are very similar to yours and I'm applying ED. It seems like everyone who posts here is always way above the average for every school. They must be accepting a lot of people who have stats like ours unless everyone of them is a URM or a legacy or has written a best-selling novel.
