Wrote 2 decent essays
Applied for Aerospace Engineering

Chances are not too good because your gpa is below average. Your sat score is decent but I think you should have wrote 3 essays instead. Even though it’s optional they still want to see three. You might get into university studies though. Good luck!

Does Virginia tech use a 5.0 scaled for admissions because a lot of people are posting their gpa around 4.4. Also on there website they said they used a 5.0 scale in 2004 but I don’t know if they still continue it. Thank you for your help

Where did you see that on their website? All the information they produce says they don’t use GPAs to make decisions, but rather the grades in your courses. http://admissions.vt.edu/apply/application-info-and-requirements.html

They look at gpa and the grades in the course. I messaged the admissions officers. But I don’t know if their admissions gpa scale is a 4 or a 5

I applied for Aero Engineering and got waitlisted

Did you end up getting in? I’m on the same boat right now and I’m about to apply to vtech

@kaiokan2 I can virtually guarantee that OP did not get in off the waitlist.
