Hello loves, I may do things differently than most of you do. First of all, I applied to CSUF and successfully submitted on the second-to-last day before the deadline. Then, I was able to make a CSUF student portal with the CWID and password. And I submitted by application fee a month ago and transcripts (by mail and online) two days ago. I am attempting to do it in person this upcoming Monday. Also, I am a junior at Irvine Valley College and already completed 3/4 Golden Fours. I am currently finishing up my last 10 units (with Reading as my last Golden Four) before I transfer there. I felt like I did a great job having a 3.00 (really, 3.00 flat with mixed As, Bs, Cs,) and trying my hardest to boost my GPA up this semester. So, my question is, what are the chances of me being part of the 42% accepted applicants to CSUF this upcoming fall?
P.S.- I am a very young student with very abusive parents and poor mental health. As a junior at a community college, I often get yelled at by my parents as they screamed “When will you transfer?!?” “Look at all the successful kids out there who transferred right after 2 years of CC?”. Very sad isn’t it? I consider myself a hard-working student who takes great care of his education to earn a bright future later. CSUF is the only school left in my hands because I didn’t pay the application fees for the other schools. I wish all of you the best of luck and please hope that I get accepted as well so I don’t have to suffer more dog fights with my parents, depression, and anxiety anymore. Take care God’s lovely children! <3
I’m from IVC as well; sophomore done with all required transfer courses/AS-T/Golden Four with 3.63 GPA, and I was admitted into Fullerton back in early December. Personally, I believe you should be well qualify to get into Fullerton. Especially since we’re considered to be Fullerton’s local students, which gives us a huge advantage from other applicants. I had a friend who also only had 3.0 and he was successfully admitted into fullteron. However, do keep in mind that it was for FALL 2016. Anyhow, best of luck.
Thanks buddy, kudos to you and your friend. I also have a friend from IVC who had a 3.02 GPA then transferred in Spring 2017. It’s still nerve wracking and scary for me until I hear the good news. I mean, good things don’t always happen. There’s always a chance to earn awful things like being rejected from csuf. It would mean the world to me if I got accepted. Hopefully we’all see each other there next semester! And good luck you nice fellow!
In your honest opinion, do you think living in Long Beach and commuting to Fullerton would be a bad idea?
Even if I only attended class 3 times a week ?
@matthms I think its all personal preference, if you would like to save a couple thousand buck by commuting and deal with the ridiculous traffic, then go for it. In fact, Fullerton is a commuter school anyways.
