It’s always good to err on the side of keeping options open, as long as you don’t have to spread yourself too thin to do it. Duke has an undergrad biophysics program too, FWIW https://phy.duke.edu/undergraduate/biophysics-major
Not all colleges superscore the SAT, so that’s something to double-check at any given school, but I think all or most of the schools discussed in this thread do. [Edit: CC’s over-eager spam filters are blocking the link to the Princeton Review list of schools that superscore, but you can Google it.] For schools that do superscore, you don’t have to worry about it looking worse - just take the superscore and run with it!
One example: Alabama does not superscore, so that would affect some people’s auto-merit eligibility. But in your case, 1480 and 1540 are in the same merit bracket anyway. (Next step up is 1600/36 for the full ride.)
At least you didn’t have the commonly-reported frustration of missing fewer math questions than before and still doing worse! And now the College Board gets rewarded for writing a too-easy version of the test that didn’t curve properly, because so many will feel compelled to pay for another round of testing. Fortunately you can walk away from that whole mess with a great superscore and move on to writing great essays. Good luck!
