Background: I applied early action to Boston College and right now it’s my #1 choice. I applied as a finance major in the Carroll business/management school. I am a white female from Delaware.
My SAT is a 1410, which I know is below their average (730 CR, 680 math). My SAT essay score was a 23/24. Do you think this puts me in a bad place for admissions? I know their early pool had an average of 1440ish last year but I still fall in their middle 50th percentile.
My GPA weighted is a 4.25 and unweighted it is a 3.9. I go to the top ranked high school in my state and I have taken 6 APs (Stat, Macro, Micro, APUSH, Psych, and Gov). So far, I’ve gotten 4’s and 5’s on all of my AP exams.
This is a basic list of my extracurriculars: varsity rower for 3 years, captain of the rowing team, national honor society member, internship with our state senator, internship at a bank over the summer, member of our schools service related club for 4 years, peer tutor at an inner-city school, etc.
I got very strong recommendations from my English teacher and my Spanish teacher. I believe the essays I submitted were well written and personal. I am still very worried about the low SAT score
Thank you very much for reading, I would love to hear everyone’s input!
Congrats! You have solid credentials. CSOM can be tricky. Go back to the ED and RD class of 2022 thread and scan the conversations of stats of those who got admitted and those who did not. Keep us posted.
Maybe you should consider taking the ACT and weighing those results against your SAT score? You only have to disclose and submit 1 standardized test score…
So if the average is a 1392 for enrolled students, that means they must take students
with a 1410 rather consistently, correct?

Definitely not true. If you read through the past years of decision threads on this forum, you’ll see many students with much higher SAT scores who did not get in. And you’ll see many with lower scores who did get in.
