What are my chances of getting into CALS?

Hey guys!
Im going to be applying early decision to CALS for the class of 2021. I would like to know what my chances of actually getting in are?
btw one thing you guys should probably consider is that I am an international student because I moved to USA from Asia at the beginning of junior year. I have also lived in 3 countries (all in different continents) till now. (I speak pretty good english but it is not the language i speak at home)

GPA :
weighted - 4.4
ACT - 30 on my first try, will probably improve atleast 1-2 points before i apply
Junior year schedule : AP Bio

Senior year schedule : AP Chem, AP Phy 1, AP calc AB, AP Environmental science, AP gov and econ
everything else in honors

EC:
Volunteered at local library
will volunteer at a hospital
scored multiple wrestling tournaments including state
helped run an international fair
math tutoring at an elementary school

Clubs/etc:
National honors society
Science national honors society
Mu Alpha theta officer
medicine club officer
President and founder of badminton club
wrestling cheer leader

I got a 10/10 GPA in my old school( in another country)

Teachers love me so they will hopefully give pretty good reccomendations

Major- Something in the pre med track, not yet sure

Please tell me what I can do to improve my chances of getting in too!!
Thank you !

Your question is kind of confusing. Are you asking what are your chances of getting into Cal Berkeley or getting into any of the Univ of California schools?

Sorry for the confusion, I meant Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

@student2021

Hello, how are you?

That is great that you have demonstrated an interest to continue your studies onward to higher education.

Here is the link to the academics section of Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences:

http://cals.cornell.edu/academics

You can click on the top-left to “Schools, Departments & Majors” to help with you search.

After you have researched the academics of CALS, and have an idea of what you want to do for your undergraduate years, you can then focus on preparing for the admissions to Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Here is the link to the admissions section of Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences:

http://admissions.cals.cornell.edu/

You can click on the top-right to all three links to “The Academic Experience,” which basically explains the background on the academics at CALS; “Before You Apply,” which explains what you should do to prepare before applying to CALS; “How to Apply,” which will explain how to apply to CALS in an appropriate manner.

Now to analyze your chance… (What can you do to improve your chances):

In terms of academics, I would continue to keep up with your GPA, and showcase that upward trend. Continue to take challenging courses that show academic growth, and preparation for college courses. Additionally, I would retake the ACT, and attempt to rise to the 32-34 range, which will place you in the median of applicants who were accepted to Cornell University.

In terms of extracurricular and volunteer activities, don’t flood yourself with countless activities, rather stick to a few, and show your commitment towards them, and how they enhanced your ultimate experience in secondary education. For the most part, you seem to be doing a good job, as you are getting involved in school. Just make sure to highlight those key interests in the college application.

Other information in regard, make sure you start early and well-craft your personal essays, for they are an integral part of college admissions, and can potentially help you stand out. Proofread your essays, ask for appropriate help with teachers and close acquaintances, and even make multiple copies of that version, etc., so that you could “perfect” those essays.

When choosing to write those letters of recommendation, make sure you ask teachers, who not only could write about your academic interests, but you as a person. It’s not about getting an A in that teacher’s class, but also finding a connection with that teacher.

Final thoughts… Most importantly show FIT and your ultimate dedication to study CALS, which these should also help increase your chances, as they mark on those features.

You can do so much to maximize your chances. I wish you well with your studies, and continue to keep up the good word.

Let me know if you need help with anything else.

Thank you for your time!
