What are my chances of getting into Georgia Tech from Georgia State with a bad freshman year?

I want to transfer into Tech by my junior year under the Computational Media major. I took 3 starting courses(freshman orientation that doesn’t count, POLS and ENG 1102) over the summer and achieved a 3.3 GPA. During my actual freshman year in fall semester, a bunch of crap got thrown my way that tanked it (car crash during finals week and getting withdrawn from all of my classes due to lack of payment and fighting back to get reinstated in all of them), and now I have a 2.6. I’m pretty sure I will NOT have such a wild ride by sophomore year, and I’m retaking 2 courses right now. I have an “average” SAT score(old) 1590, and I’m fairly active within extracurriculars at GSU. I know the major I’m going for is easier to get into Tech with because it’s sort of liberal artsy with a computer science side to it(totally my thing), but it’s still Georgia Tech and I’m intimidated. Is it still possible? Can I make it?

Oh yeah, and what are some tips or steps I should take to work towards this goal?
