I currently have a 3.87 Unweighted GPA and I am in the International Baccalaureate Full Diploma Programme (7 IB classes). I also am involved in several extracurricular activities like Cross Country, Wrestling (which I want to wrestle at NYU), and National Honor Society, Voyager Business program etc. I feel like the main thing that is lowering my chances is my ACT score which I got a 26 on my second time taking it. I take my first SAT test in a couple months, so i’ll see how I do on that. But how probable is it right now that i’ll be admitted into NYU Stern? It is my dream school and I would be very disappointed if I didn’t get in.
Oh and I forgot to mention my class rank is 5/190
Unless you vastly improve on the ACT, chances look bleak. Getting recruited will definitely help.

Hi Andrew1234567890! So basically getting recruited at NYU would allow for some leniency in the admission process to NYU because you will have coach’s support in admission. I would suggest you email the wrestling coach to see if he’s interested. As for ACT, I would take a look at the NYU website because they have what range of ACT scores get admitted. I would say at least a 32 and above.
