What are my chances of getting into Purdue

I got a sat score of 1880 and have high GPA. Am planning to give act and hoping for better scores

How high is a “high GPA”? Also, what extracurriculars do you have?

I have got 4.0 GPA and have been recognized as the Scholar of the Year.i have been in the singing club of the school for 4 yrs. I am also in the school tennis team . 100 + hours of volunteer work. Plz chance me now

Yeah! match for purdue…

Purdue: Low match/Match

Thanks , I know my sat scores are jeopardising my chances . Should I give sat another try or should I give act? What else should I do to increase my chances to get into Purdue

Eager for a reply

What is your intended major? You will need higher score for engineering.

U r right, I am going to apply for engineering. What minimum score will put me in a safe zone? For engg will the univ give equal weightage to both CR and math or more to math?
Actually my math score is fine , it is 750 but i have a tough time with english.Do u think I should give act? What more should I do to increase my chances to get into purdue?

It definitely would hurt to try ACT. For sure engineering would put more emphasis on Math score. You should be safe if all your section scores are near or above 600.

Is act reading and writing more difficult than that of sat?

It is hard to say. My D got 36 & 35 in ACT Eng & reading but only low 700s in SAT. One main difference is the essay score in SAT is included in the writing score while it is separated from the Eng score in ACT. On the other hand, the science section is like another kind of reading comprehension.
