what are my chances?

<p>first of all, my parents and i are confused about everything</p>

<p>i want to apply to specific engineering schools while my mom wants to to apply to general science schools and i dont agree with her because i think a specific track is better than a really general one that won't give me an idea of what i want to do...help me?</p>

extra curriculars: honor roll, national honor society, french honor society, president of habitat for humanity at school, president of habitat for humanity youth united of county, treasurer of society of women engineers, choir, guitar, piano, volunteer at library for the past 6 years
skills/awards: i do nanotechnology research at my school- Currently conducting project consisting of synthesizing differently shaped silver nanoparticles and exposing E. coli bacteria to these nanoparticles to observe antibacterial effects
awards: Yale Science and Engineering Award for the Most Outstanding Eleventh Grade Exhibit in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Chemistry

<p>so do you think i'm good for these schools? and also for scholarships from them?</p>

<p>Your ECs seem fairly impressive, and your GPA seems okay. It might be slightly harder to get merit scholarships though. You should retake your Math II SAT as well. You’re “good” for those schools, but remember that those on the top of your list are forever reach schools for every single person.</p>

<p>Also, if you really want to do engineering, you should probably do it as soon as possible because it’s a hard major to change into (or so I’ve heard). However, if you go general, you’d be able to try out more things and find out what suits you more.</p>
