Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can please tell me what my chances are of getting into Tulane
Im applying Early Action (Nonbinding) although its my first choice
-Im a senior
-I have a 3.6 weighted GPA
-I have a 2060 SAT score
-Taken AP Us History, AP Biology, AP US. Gov, AP Comparative, and Im taking AP Environmental Science, AP Psych, AP English, and AP Spanish this year
-Got a 4 on Gov, 5's on Comparative and U.S. and a 3 on Bio
-Intend to be a Public Health Major

Extracurriculars:
-Dance for 7 years at my ballet school
-Being a literacy tutor at the Boy's and Girls Club (teaching elementary school kids how to read who are below grade level in their skills)
-Volunteering with a special needs child once a week since 9th grade
-Member of Habitat for Humanity Club and Environmental Action club at my school

GPA a little low, but not out of the ballpark low most likely. UW is more useful if you know it. Everything else seems good, so assuming you let Tulane know you are that interested via your Why Tulane essay and visiting the campus (or if you cannot do that attending a local event), have good recs, etc. you have a decent chance I think. It might be better if you apply SCEA since Tulane is your first choice. It is still non-binding, but it does prevent you (morally at least) from applying to other schools EA.

thanks so much! yeah i know my gpa definitely is an issue but hopefully everything else will be enough to get me in.

Has your GPA been trending up, down, or fairly constant? Trending up definitely improves your chances and is worth briefly highlighting, if true. Or ask your guidance counselor to be sure to mention it.

i got in! (a while ago) and i received a scholarship of $20,000 per year, in case anyone with similar statistics is wondering.
