What are my chances?

Do I have a chance of getting into Colby, Bates, or Bowdoin?

My GPA is 91 out of 100.
Rank: 82 out of 246.

I have done EC's such as Model UN, YES(Youth Engagement for Somalis), What's Next?!(Student based health center club), Interned for a state senator, interned for the Red Cross, and Civil Rights team member.

Some of the classes I took were African Studies, Asian studies, Asian philosophy, World Religions, Modern Military History, Psychology, Sociology, Forensics, Environmental Science...those are some of my electives. I received A's in all of those classes too. French for 3 years, Math(Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry), 3 years History(my school only offers 3 years), 4 Years English, 4 years Science...those are some of my core classes.

My essay was about my struggle growing up in predominately white state(Maine) as a Somali American. First generation. Immigrated to the country in 1996. I received great feedback from college students and teachers because of my essay, so I hope it helps me out.

I know how selective these schools are and I just wanted to know my chances. Thank you.

As you know, these schools are high selective. That said, your essay might particularly tweak the interest of AO’s at Bates due to the high number of Somali refugees in Lewiston. I could envision them seeing a role for you in helping to bring together the college and local Somali communities. I know that doesn’t really answer your question but I thought I’d throw it out anyway.

They’re selective, yes, but I definitely think you have a great shot.

Chance me back - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1627148-chances-at-northwestern-brandeis-brown-i-ll-chance-back.html#latest

Rejected by both Bates and Bowdoin…I shouldn’t have even tried. Now I’m just waiting for my rejection from Colby.
