So I am applying to Rutgers (NB) and my goal is to get into SAS. My GPA is like a 3.2 and SAT score is coming in two weeks. You can say my score was not more than 1000… I’m doing early action, I have around 5 extra curricular activities so I hope that makes me stand out. I have a presidential award that I put under special awards, etc. I have 2 recommendation letters and a pretty long essay. What are my chances of getting in?
The essay has to be in the word limit, so check that. If your SAT is not over 1000 you will have a pretty rough chance of getting into Rutgers. Wait till you get your actual results, if it’s not over 1000 then study really hard and retake it and apply for regular decision.
Oh but you see I’m not planning to take the SAT again. I went lower than the first one I took. People always tell me Rutgers looks at your clubs, awards, essay, and recommendations if done. I mean besides the SAT and GPA, there has to be some chance I can get in right? There are flaws in the other schools on my list and my reach is Rutgers. It’s very competitive but can they choose applicants based on their many clubs, awards, a pretty good essay, etc if the SAT and GPA aren’t that great?
