What are my chances?

Hey, I’m in the summer after my Junior year in high school, and I’m a bit conflicted about schools to apply to. I tend to be pretty modest about my history, and because of this I don’t know where I can get into because I generally sell myself short. But I’ve been prompted to post this to see whether or not I can actually make it into the prestigious Amherst College. My GPA is between an A- and an A, and I’ve taken every single advanced course offered in my school, and I’m an IB Diploma candidate. I took the SAT: M-700 V-700 W-660 but I plan to take it over…and the ACT: Composite- 31, E-29, M-32, G-29, S-32…I have a 620 on the Math IC SAT II but I plan on taking the IIC, the IC again, and the U.S. history and I am going to work until they are all at or around 700. I also am the ace on my varsity baseball team, I won all league, I ran varsity cross country in 10th grade, I’m in the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, and the National Science Honor Society, I am looking at a very nice recommendation from my guidance counselor and teacher recommendations should be equally nice. Though I don’t know what makes me stand out that would help me get admitted into the schools like the Ivies, or schools equally strong in academics. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

were you just not asking ur chances for cornell
lol :D

Yes, my apologies, I've put the same message for numerous schools...I'm very anxious about this process.

ye actually me too and now i'm dying to make a college list but i can't :(
there are just so many colleges that i'm interested in

I know the feeling. it's really overwhelming right? I don't know, I can't wait until the process is over and I can chill in my new clothes with the college i'm going to pasted all over the clothes.

joker,
I can't comment on your chances, but I have a question. Why are you planning on taking your SAT and SAT II's again? Your ACT score is equivilent to your M + V SAT (1400) and you don't need to submit SAT II's if you use your ACT. How about just prepping more for the ACT and forgetting about the SAT's? Just a thought. Also, why are you planning on taking both the Math1 and Math2 SAT II's? Schools like to see SAT II's in different subject areas, there's no reason to duplicate math. Also, if you apply to a school that wants 3 SAT II's (there are just a few), you will be one short as they only count one of the math tests. Good luck!

thank you very much. I did not consider the fact that they would consider 2 maths one subject...I will keep that in consideration.
