I did not study for my ACT the first time, but I did the second time. I plan on majoring in business, finance to be specific, if that helps. Overall, do I have a chance or would it be best to not spend my money applying? Thank you!

My GPA was below that and my ACT was a 28 and I got in reg decision. I took some of those APs as well. I didn’t even write the optional essay or interview. I spontaneously applied and got in and now it’s one of my top choices, so I think you should definitely apply!

Is that an unweighted GPA? If so, all of the APs will help. I wouldn’t send the SATs, as F&M seem to be pretty stats-driven no matter what they say.

What year were you accepted? I heard that they got tougher.

It is my weighted GPA

I was accepted for Fall 2016, so this year. I think a lot of things were in my favor, however. Only 5 kids from my state usually go, so I was geographically desirable. I had a lower GPA but I also had a dramatic increase, as smaller schools using holistic admissions look carefully at your application.

I’d never say you should give up, but it’s a tough school to get into. Look at the Regular Decision 2016 thread and see all of the people who didn’t get in and their stats, and you’ll get a rough idea of where you fall.

do they take individual year gpa’s into account? My sophomore year gpa was relatively weak, but my gpa junior year was .7 points higher than my sophomore year gpa, if that makes any sense

I’m sure that they do, bc I had something similar and I got in. Smaller schools typically look more closely at your transcript
