Are those income credit, educations credit, child tax credit, and etc?

Also, only the income tax return is required to be signed right?

Schedules are the pages attached to an income return. Like Schedule A for itemized deductions, Schedule B for interest and dividend income, etc. Yes. You only sign the return.

I have 3 forms-tax credit, educational credit, and schedule EIC Earned Income credit. Are those schedules I need to send?

thankyouall…schedules are a part of your income tax return. If you complete them, you also submit them with your tax return. You should have copies of all of them. IF your school requests your tax returns, they expect to receive ALL of your tax return including the schedules plus supporting W-2, and 1099 forms.

Thumper1, I always thought schools wanted all schedules, too, if they requested tax returns. However, the school where I work does not actually want them … if we need a schedule, we request it. Otherwise, we only want the 1040. As always, read the info carefully and send what you are being asked to send. Of course, if you are being asked to include “schedules,” include them all!

I think some things are “schedules” and some are “forms” such as the tuition and fee 8917 FORM

Just a difference in terminology, I’m not sure what the schools really want though

Thanks guys.

Cornell required all schedules to be sent, but I just wasn’t certain which one was it. Also for the W-2s, do I cut one of the three out and then send it to school?
Ok, sorry I didn’t read it well. I just saw this " attach to form 1040A" on those forms. So it is a schedule even though it says “form 8888” instead of Schedule blah blah"?

Make copies and send the copies. Keep your originals at home.
