I have directed a local children’s theater group for 3 years now during the summer (~14hr/week, for 3 weeks each year). Additionally, I’ve worked as a camp counselor select years.

Leadership: Camp director, camp counselor, marching band student leader, multiple lead roles within theater

AWARDS
I cannot think of any at all. Is this bad? No, I’m not a Merit finalist. I literally cannot recall any awards besides annual academic excellence :frowning:

HOOKS?
My brother’s illness (F.I.R.E.S., rare form of epileptic seizures) has given our family a large financial burden.

COLLEGES I’M INTERESTED IN
Ohio State (definitely applying)
University of Michigan
UCLA (visited the campus-- oh god, I fell in love)
Boston University
UNC Chapel Hill

If any of you could give me some realistic matches and reaches, that would be absolutely fantastic. I sincerely appreciate the time and effort given in your responses; college applications are truly stressful. Thank you all so much!

I can really only speak on Michigan but I think you have a good chance there if you get your ACT up a little bit  They love extracurriculars and tend to favor IB students (I know one that got in, she’s in the engineering program). I don’t think it’s that bad that you don’t have any academic awards, either.

Sorry if I missed this, but where are you from? Regardless, OSU seems like a safety for you and BU is at worse a high match imo.

Hey! I’m from Ohio. @SeinfeldFan1

@lnicole Thanks for your feedback! Congrats to your pal, too!

@francesmendez oh ok! You seem like a great candidate, but I think UCLA and UNC will be hard OOS. However, UM seems pretty possible (keep in mind that Ross School of Business consistently ranks in the top 5, though, so applying directly to it could be tough). I hate to push Case on everyone, but it seems like you could get a big scholarship here with your stats, so maybe consider it :D. Feel free to PM me if you have many questions!

@SeinfeldFan1 Ah great! Thank you so much for your input. I’ll look into Case Western!!
