^ Most selective LACs are in suburban or rural areas. Macalester, Colorado College, and Wesleyan are some exceptions. Trinity College (Hartford) is another, but probably not the kind of place the OP wants.

Oberlin, Clark, Bowdoin

Macalester, everyone there is a hipster or a hippie. There is a school-funded (they literally fund the drugs) āresponsibleā marijuana-smoking club. You definitely donāt have to be involved in political activism, in fact the biggest thing students there are riled-up about is Macalesterās decision to revoke their need-blind admissions process.

Also, St. Paul is very progressive. The Minneapolis-St.Paul area has a very lively rave/club/theater/political scene that you have full advantage of.

Check out Reed. They super super study like all the time but it was described to me as the Evergreen of Oregon and one of my friends who wants to go their told me, āEven at the parties with alcohol they debate plato.ā

Geeze, maybe you should just hang out at urban outfitters for four years.

William & Mary is very geek chic, esp for the South.

I second Clark U. It would be more of an urban setting.

Mac! Weāre not all political activists here. Promise.

Sounds like Wesleyan in Middletown, CT for sure.
