October Sky is science :)

Transformers in world history
A Beautiful Mind in Psych
Monty Python in Soph. English

LAND OF THE TSARS.

Except that's a documentary/educational picture, which is really low-budget and kind of bad, but in that way that you worship it and want to make Land of the Tsars 5: Return of the Tsars.

Um...well, I'm currently taking Studies in Film Genre, so we're going to watch a ton of great stuff. Right now we're watching the 1916 silent western Hell's Hinges. There's a lot of note-taking in that class.

We watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest last year in Sociology. I loved it.

My AP World class watched the first Indiana Jones and Sicko (the michael moore doc) after we finished with the curriculum. I thought the last one was pretty good even though some parts were really exaggerated.

We also saw the parts of a Bollywood flick on Akbar the Great.

And then there was Black Rain which had me shedding a few tears.

All good movies that I'd definetely recommend.

cool hand luke
supersize me
jurassic park
the lost world
jurassic park 3

How is Transformers related to history?

for me, The Alamo in TX history

Mean Girls & Clueless for P.E. haha
But also Hotel Rwanda and Les Choristes

We watched Crash and Amadeus in AP Chem last year after the exam, and we are currently watching V for Vendetta in AP Lit (for parallels to 1984).

Geometry: A Beautiful Mind.
US History: 1776.
English: Edward Scissorhands.

In Chinese, we've watched a slew of Disney movies in chinese, with English subtitles
Finding Nemo was a class favorite, Pinochiccio (sp?) never recieved that level of popularity

The Emperor's Club
- in Latin class!

Big Lebowski

Lemme see,
In Jr High we watched Diary of Anne Frank and the Grinch(the good one, not Jim Carry greenified) in English, Gladiator and The Emperor's New Groove in World History, and Johnny Trimane(sp?), The Alamo, and The Patriot (which my whole grade is OBSESSED with...dead serious) in US History.
HS: Romeo and Juliet, To Kill a Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, The Great Gatsby, Pride and Prejudice (the AMAZING miniseries with Colin Firth. My teacher was in love with him) and Tess of the D'Ubervilles( (My class had WAY too much fun with that movie...we all hated the book) all in English
The Wizard of Oz in AP US History ( if anyone can give me a logical explaination for that, it would be wonderful)
Some movie with Cuba Gooding Jr. Being a Navy Diver and a hilariously bad movie about Hitler in World Cultures.
And my personal favorite
Fight Club, The Godfather and Superbad all in one, double-period AP Chem. We got in soooooooo much trouble.

The movie about the kids in AP Calculus who all get 5s and then have to retake the exam because College Board thinks they all cheated.

(What's the name of the movie? >.<)

Id probably have to say American History X for 10th grade english class. Or The Usual Suspects in my english class as well.

Why is Quest for the Holy Grail so popular in class?
I suppose you do learn about air-speed velocity of Swallows

We used to watch a lot of Blackadder in class (yeah, not a movie, but it’s not like we watched very much stuff anyway). The Crucible was probably the best movie. The Gods Must Be Crazy was pretty good too.

schindler’s list

American Satire: Catch-22
AP English (Lit) : Much Ado About Nothing, “Shy Guy” (1940s video about how not to be shy)
7th grade Pre-Alg: October Sky (we built rockets)
And a few interesting/creepy clips in Psych once we got to the chapter about disorders and such.

^ Ooh, have you ever watched the psych experiment with the Bobo doll? All the psych classes in our school are obsessed with it. You mention psychology to one of us and the first thing that comes to mind is Bobo dolls.
