Can anyone name few? Do I need to be a Honors student to get a good housing? Let me know

you want good housing?? hmmmm, some of the better housing requires you to submit a separate application, and i don’t know if you’ll be able to get a spot, because some of the spaces for these ‘special residence halls’ fill up fast.
If you are a girl:
You know the traditional residence halls are Collins, and North/South Russell. These usually are available. These residence halls have community baths and are small in size compared to Brooks and Dawson.
Now if you want nice… Brooks, which was pretty recently remodeled, is really really nice! But you definitely have to apply ahead of time, and they also force you to sign a two year contract. So you’ll have to live there for two years. Not worth it if you ask me, because apartments in Waco are supa cheap! I’m renting an apartment for under $300 a month next year!!! Oh yeah and Brooks is more expensive. I’ve only been in the guy part of Brooks, but from what I see it is basically a suite that you share with 3 others. Inside this suite there is one bathroom and one shower. The suite is split up into two bedrooms (2 residents per bedroom) and the bathroom, and a really small ‘hallway’ if you can even call it that. It’s probably the second most spacious dorm at Baylor next to North Village. But you can only live in North Village if you are an athlete, musician, or engineering major. For Brooks, you don’t have to be in honors and you don’t have to like apply for leadership or anything crazy like that, just look for an application online. After living in Penland, I was blown away by Brooks haha.
There is also Dawson. It is suite-style also, but it is smaller, and the building itself just isn’t as nice. It is bigger than the traditional residence halls, and does require you to do some extra stuff. My girlfriend lives in Dawson, and I think she likes it. The only catch is that you have to sign up for leadership and be an active participant in Dawson’s/Allen’s leadership program. That includes a set number of community hours and a 3 credit hour leadership class per semester if you want to maintain residency in Dawson. There is not 2 year contract like Brooks, but it really isn’t as nice compared to Brooks in my opinion. The dorms are designed like regular dorms. You live with another roomate in your dorm, but your bathroom is connected to the dorm next to you. So it’s basically like a traditional residence hall, except it has a bathroom in between two rooms, and it is slightly bigger, whereas Brooks is really like a mini-apartment.

If you are a guy…
Then you know that the traditional residence halls are Penland and Martin. Listen carefully, I have heard a lot of people regret not living at one of these places. Your residence halls are really a place where you can develop bonds and make friends. The setting is much different than those of Brooks (who also houses guys) and Allen (which is connected to Dawson). If you want a traditional college experience with a traditional dorm experience then these are the places to go. But that’s just my warning.

If you want nice… Then there’s Brooks. I already told you about Brooks, same thing applies to girls and guys. There’s also Allen, which is just like Dawson, and all the same things apply.

Good luck with wherever you’re trying to live! Hope I helped!
