When ranking school and probability of attaining an investment banking job (for better or for worst), many don't appreciate the geographical importance of the school. Here is my take:

Investment banks recruit from a variety of colleges. In New York, the target schools tend to be the Ivies along with UVA, Duke, Georgetown and a few others schools. In Chicago, Northwestern, University of Chicago, and other Midwest schools are great feeders. In San Francisco and Los Angeles, Berkeley, UCLA, USC, and to a lesser extent the Ivies, send many students into investment banking. Many Stanford students end up in finance as well, though professionals at investment banks perceive Stanford students to be more technology and start-up focused. Finally, BYU also does extremely well in Wall Street recruiting due to its strong alumni network.
