What Are The Engineering Admissions Stats Like?

<p>How hard is it to get into the college of engineering?
Average SAT/GPA?</p>

<p>What are my chances?
(UW/W)
Cumulative (6 honors & 5 AP by graduation):
3.2/3.5
Freshman (2 honors):
2.8/3.1
Sophomore (1 honor, 1 advanced):
2.9/3.2
Junior (1 AP, 1 honor, 1 advanced):
3.7/4.0+
Senior:
None yet, will be 4 AP and 2 honors.</p>

<p>SAT I:
1860/2400
Am taking it again and prepping for a 1950+, but chance me based on the above scores.
I am also taking the ACT and think I can get a 30-31.</p>

<p>SAT II:
Chem - got a 720 on my first practice test (barrons) prepping for 770+
Math II - Got a 640 on first practice test (again, barrons), prepping for 700+</p>

<p>EC's:
-Model UN - 5 committees - 3 awards
-Athletics - 4 years - Soccer and Track
-MADMen - 1 year - Make a difference mentors - I helped a freshman student socially
-Habitat for Humanity - 3 years - One year I was the head of the flooring team
-I am probably doing (if I get in) either the drexel or rowan summer engineering camps
-Music - 6 years - I play guitar and bass
-Trying to get a job this summer</p>

<p>NJ State Resident</p>

<p>My school has a partnership with drexel which makes it easier to get in. I go to a top public HS (#1 in south jersey).</p>

<p>I think you are on target for admission to Drexel. Check this info from Drexel’s admissions website. [Freshman</a> Class Profile | Undergraduate Admissions | Drexel University](<a href=“http://www.drexel.edu/undergrad/about/facts/freshman-class/]Freshman”>http://www.drexel.edu/undergrad/about/facts/freshman-class/)</p>

<p>I have seen that, however, it is harder to get into engineering. That’s what I am curious about.</p>

<p>About 1/3 of Drexel students are engineering majors, so I would think those stats are fairly representative of engineering majors. However, if you are concerned, I’d suggest calling Drexel and talking to an admissions advisor. Also, you can check with your high school guidance counselor as they probably have a good idea of the track record of students from your school who have gotten accepted to Drexel. Overall, you may as well apply and find out. Drexel’s application is free so the only cost is to send your SAT scores. Good luck and I think you have a good chance.</p>

<p>You have a good chance for sure. I got in with lower stats so nothing to worry about.</p>

<p>Thanks guys.</p>
